Kazuo Shiraga Work Sells for $1.1m But Delivers a 25% Negative Return

Kazuo Shiraga, Onkurodanau Unjaku (1994) sold for $1.1m (HKD8.57m), more than the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on March 28.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $370,600, realizing a 25% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2021 for $1.47m at Est-Ouest Auctions.

Oil On Canvas, 193.0 x 130.0cm. The work has been traded 3 times in the past.
