Kazuo Shiraga, Goshiki zanmai (Five colors samadhi) (1976) sold for $73,400 (HKD571,500), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on September 27.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $40,700, realizing a 35% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2014 for $114,200 at Est-Ouest Auctions.
