Kaari Upson, 168 (2013) sold for $114,700 (GBP88,900), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Phillips in London on March 7. The silicone, spandex and fiberglass work has been traded twice in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $54,300, a 89% rise.
