Jozef Pankiewicz, "Japanese Girl" (1906-08) sold for $3.62m (PLN13.2m), more than the low estimate at Desa Unicum in Warsaw on June 18. The oil on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $2.78m, a 325% rise.
