Joseph Mozier, Bust of a Lady (1856) sold for $56,700, more than 14 times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on February 5.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $11,700, a 26% rise.

The previous record was set by Figure of girl picking a flower (1865), which sold for $45,000 at Christie's on May 23, 1996.
