Joan Miro Work Sells for $1.66m to Deliver a 3% Annualized Return

Joan Miro, Projet pour la céramique murale de l’Unesco 'Le Mur du soleil' (1955), sold for $1.66m, more than twice the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 20.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $152,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 3%. It last sold at auction in 2023 for $1.51m at Sotheby's.

Gouache, brush and ink and pencil on paper laid down on paper, laid down on board, 23.2 x 150.0cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
