Joan Miro, L’échelle (1938), sold for $458,100 (GBP342,900), more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $283,400, equivalent to an annualized return of 3%. It last sold at auction in 2000 for $174,700 at Christie's.
