Jean Michel Othoniel, Untitled (blue-knot) (2012) sold for $152,400, more than five times the low estimate at Phillips in New York on May 14. The mirrored glass and stainless steel work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $3,400, a 2% rise.

The previous record was set by Grand Collier Alessandrita (2010), which sold for $149,000 at Sotheby's on November 14, 2013. The work had not been traded before.
