Jean Dubuffet, Trois chameaux (1948) sold for $40,600, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 16.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $757, realizing a 1% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1998 for $41,400 at Christie's.

Watercolor, gouache and ink on paper, 31.1 x 41.0cm. The work has been traded 9 times in the past.
