Jean Baptiste Secheret, Hôtel des Roches Noires (2004) sold for $124,400 (EUR108,800), more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in Paris on July 7. The oil on paper laid down on canvas work has been traded twice in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $66,100, a 100% rise.
