Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres Work Returns to Auction

Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, Portrait of Marie Marcotte; and Portrait of her husband Alexandre Legentil, is due to be sold at Christie's in New York on February 5, 2026 with a $200,000 to $300,000 estimate.

It last sold at auction in 2009 for $428,500 at Christie's. The current low estimate is 58% lower than its previous low estimate of $484,700.
