Jan van Goyen, A coastal scene with boats drawn up on a beach by a village (1623) sold for $100,700 (GBP76,200), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on December 3.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $120,000, realizing a 54% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1992 for $220,700 at Sotheby's.
