Jan Both, Extensive Italianate landscape with a traveler and drovers on a road, a farmhouse and a village beyond sold for $56,700, less than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 20.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $52,800, realizing a 48% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1997 for $109,500 at Christie's.
