On June 19, 2026, the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum in Denmark inaugurated 'As Seen Below – The Dome', a new permanent Skyspace installation by artist James Turrell. This work, described as Turrell's largest Skyspace to date, significantly expands the museum's permanent collection and its engagement with light art and architectural interventions.

Turrell's Skyspaces are renowned for their manipulation of natural light, offering viewers a unique, framed experience of the sky that challenges perception. 'As Seen Below – The Dome' continues this artistic inquiry, providing a dedicated environment for observing atmospheric changes and the interplay of light, aligning with themes of contemporary art and architecture.

The realization of the installation involved collaboration with architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen. Financial backing was provided by the Salling Foundations and the New Carlsberg Foundation. Individuals noted in connection with the project include Sam Talbot, Rebecca Matthews, and Florian Holzherr, alongside Aarhus Municipality representatives Anders Winnerskjold and Jesper Kjeldsen, and ARoS director Sanne Kofod Olsen.
