J.M.W. Turner Work Sells for $381,000 to Deliver a 6% Annualized Return

J.M.W. Turner, View down the Mont Cenis, sold for $381,000, less than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on February 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $373,200, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 1965 for $7,839 at Sotheby's.
