Ivon Hitchens, The South Downs, near Midhurst (1920), sold for $99,000 (GBP74,200), more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $64,400, equivalent to an annualized return of 11%. It last sold at auction in 2016 for $34,600 at Sotheby's.

Watercolour and gouache on paper, 22.0 x 32.0cm. The work has been traded once in the past.
