Ivan Theimer, Untitled (1990) sold for $38,300 (EUR33,800), more than three times the low estimate at Dorotheum in Vienna on May 22. The painted bronze obelisk with brown patina work has been traded once in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $4,523, a 13% rise.
