A work by Hongren was the headline sale at Sotheby's 'Painting and Calligraphy on fans from the Xiao Wan Liu Tang Collection' auction on October 16 in Hong Kong.
The star lot was: Hongren, 弘仁 擬陸廣山水 | Landscape after Lu Guang (Undated), which sold for $648,700, 1579% above its $38,600 low estimate.
The outperformer sold for 2998% above its low estimate. Yun Shouping, 惲壽平 牡丹 | Peony (1689), sold for $478,800 ($15,500 low estimate).
