Henry Moret, Côte rocheuse (1901) sold for $346,000 (£254,000), more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on June 25. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.
Henry Moret (1856–1913) was a French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painter known for his landscapes of Brittany of which his 1901 painting of a rocky coast in sunshine is a characteristic example.

The sale beat Moret’s previous auction record by $50,300, a 17% rise. His previous record was set by L'ile De Groix, Morbihan (1903), which sold for $295,700 at Christie's on June 23, 2016. The work had not been traded before.
