Henri Matisse, Odalisque; damier, coussin (1928) sold for $127,000, more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on November 18.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $57,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 1%. It last sold at auction in 1993 for $70,000 at Christie's.

Pen and india ink on paper, 32.8 x 49.2cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
