Henri Matisse Work Sells for $20m to Deliver a 0.3% Annualized Return

Henri Matisse, La Séance du matin (1924), sold for $20m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 19.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $795,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 0.3%. It last sold at auction in 2014 for $19.2m at Sotheby's.
