Glenn Ligon, Whitman #2 (Study) (1991) sold for $279,400, more than one and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on November 19.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $35,100, realizing a 11% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2011 for $314,500 at Sotheby's.
