Glenn Ligon Work Sells for $41,000 But Delivers a 50% Negative Return

Glenn Ligon, Sun (Version 1) #2 (2001), sold for $41,000, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on February 27.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $41,500, realizing a 50% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2018 for $82,500 at Phillips.

Silkscreen ink, oil crayon and gesso on canvas, 121.9 x 91.4cm. The work has been traded 3 times in the past.
