It is a busy year for Glenn Brown, staring this spring when his two exhibitions open in Bath in the west of England. The Holburne will host Brown in Bath: Arrows of Desire from May 16 to September 6, while Brown in Bath: Grottoesque is due to open at No. 1 Royal Crescent, an historic Georgian townhouse and museum, on May 22, also to September 6.

Both presentations will feature Brown's paintings and drawings, with additional elements including sculpture and wallpaper. The exhibitions are designed to establish a dialogue with the historical collections and settings of their respective venues.

The presentation at No. 1 Royal Crescent, which is managed by the Bath Preservation Trust, will place Brown's work within the context of Georgian culture.

After Brown in Bath, the artist will have a solo show at Gainsborough House, the former home of Thomas Gainsborough, in the east of England as well as turn his hand to curating for a show at Florence's Museo Novocentro, both of which are due to open October.
