Giovanni Antonio Canal, Venice, the Bucintoro at the Molo on Ascension Day, sold for $30.54m, more than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on February 4.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $29.89m, equivalent to an annualized return of 7%. It last sold at auction in 1973 for $647,600 at Sotheby's.
