Giorgio de Chirico, Sgombero su piazza d’Italia (1968) sold for $572,100 (CNY4.16m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Shanghai on April 3.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $59,800, realizing a 9% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2018 for $631,900 at Christie's.
Oil on canvas, 60.0 x 90.0cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
