Ghulam Ali Khan, THE DIWAN-I KHAS IN THE RED FORT IN DELHI (1815) sold for $626,200 (GBP469,900), more than six and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in London on October 28. The Translucent and opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, laid down on card work has not been traded before.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $569,400, a 1000% rise.
