Georges Seurat Work Sells for $609,600 to Deliver a 1% Annualized Return

Georges Seurat, Blé et arbres (Le Champ de blé) (recto); Portrait de Félix Fénéon (verso) (1883) sold for $609,600, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 13.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $96,700, equivalent to an annualized return of 1%. It last sold at auction in 2014 for $512,900 at Sotheby's.
