George Condo, The Alpine Waitress (2006) sold for $1.32m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on November 21.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $1.05m, equivalent to an annualized return of 12%. It last sold at auction in 2011 for $266,400 at Sotheby's.
