Gary Bunt's Sail Away (2022) sold for $68,700 (GBP51,200), more than four times the low estimate at Bonhams on July 16. The oil and pencil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.
Gary Bunt (1957–2025) was a self‑taught British painter whose nostalgic images of rural life often featured a man and his loyal dog.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $2,176, a 3% rise. His previous record was set by Say A Prayer For Me (2020), which sold for $66,500 at Sotheby's, Online on March 16, 2021. The work had not been traded before.
