Gagosian Opens Brice Marden Show and Launches Catalogue Raisonne

Gagosian New York has opened a major survey of Brice Marden’s work, I Am Plane Image, accompanied by the publication of a catalogue raisonné of the artist’s paintings.

The catalogue, Gagosian’s 700th book, provides a comprehensive record of Marden’s painting career, from his early monochromatic works to his later, intricate calligraphic abstractions, concluding with pieces created shortly before his death in August 2023.

Presented in collaboration with the artist’s estate, the exhibition includes major institutional loans from the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum, and others, as well as significant works from the Marden Estate and notable private collections.

I Am Plane Image runs September 15–December 12 at Gagosian’s West 21st Street gallery in New York.
