Gagosian will present "Late Paintings by Francis Bacon" at its Paris gallery. The show marks the 30th anniversary of the artist's landmark retrospective at the Centre Pompidou and his longstanding connection to the French capital where he had a studio from 1975 and 1987.
There will be three large-scale canvases in the focused show: Bacon's Study from the Human Body—Figure in Movement (1982), Study from the Human Body (1986), and Man at a Washbasin (1989–90).
An illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition with essays by the curator Richard Calvocoressi and critic Sebastian Smee as well as text works by Gillian Pistell.
The show is due to open April 11 through May 30.
