Gabrielle Goliath's 'Elegy', a multi-channel video installation, is set to be exhibited at Chiesa di Sant’Antonin in Castello, Venice. The presentation will run from Tuesday 5 May to Friday 31 July 2026, coinciding with the period of La Biennale di Venezia. A special launch event is scheduled for Thursday 7 May 2026, from 5-7pm.
The project, which originated as a performance, addresses themes of violence, loss, and social justice. 'Elegy' incorporates elements of performance art, sound art, and video installation to explore concepts such as grief, lament, and ritual, with a focus on issues like femicide and Palestinian lives.
Goliath's work has previously been exhibited at institutions including MoMA PS1, PinchukArtCentre, Art City Bologna, Frac Bretagne, Talbot Rice Gallery, B7L9, MoMA, Tate Modern, Kunsthalle Zürich, Mudam Luxembourg, Taguchi Art Collection, and the Iziko South African National Gallery. This independent presentation in Venice is supported by entities such as Ibraaz and the Bertha Foundation.
Following its Venice run, 'Elegy' is scheduled for exhibition in London in October 2026.
