Frank Stella, Felsztyn II (1971) sold for $504,000, more than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 15.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $344,200, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 2007 for $159,800 at Sotheby's.
