Frank Auerbach Work Sells for $660,000 to Deliver a 0.7% Annualized Return

Frank Auerbach, Figure on a Bed (1966), sold for $660,000 (GBP499,200), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on October 14.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $76,500, equivalent to an annualized return of 0.7%. It last sold at auction in 2008 for $583,600 at Christie's.

Oil on artist's board, 57.0 x 79.0cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
