Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell, The White Sofa (1913), sold for $253,900 (GBP192,000), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on October 14.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $83,400, equivalent to an annualized return of 1%. It last sold at auction in 2004 for $170,400 at Sotheby's.
