Francesco Guardi Work Sells for $129,700 to Deliver a 1% Annualized Return

Francesco Guardi, The interior courtyard of a Venetian palazzo, with two figures sold for $129,700 (GBP94,500), more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in London on July 2.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $64,100, equivalent to an annualized return of 1%. It last sold at auction in 1973 for $65,600 at Christie's.
