Brian Griffin, who has died aged 75, had an incredible visual imagination, photography collector James Hyman tells the British Journal of Photography. A portrait photographer who in the 1990s directed music videos, Griffin is most closely associated with extraordinary images he created in the 1970s and 80s for musicians, such as Elvis Costello.

Ewa Juszkiewicz, whose surreal portraits of women were last seen at Gagosian, Beverly Hill, tells Whitewall how she turned one of them into a Louis Vuitton handbag.

The estate of Elda Cerrato (1931-2023) is now represented by Hales. The gallery is due to present a solo show of works by the Italian-born Argentine artist in its New York space in 2024. HENI News

Molemo Moiloa and Nare Mokgotho, who make up the art collective MADEYOULOOK, will represent South Africa at the Venice Biennale. They are due to present a sound installation relating to the histories of forced migration and land dispossession in South Africa, Contemporary& reports.

A man has died after falling from Tate Modern in London, BBC News reports. The gallery told visitors via social media it would remain closed for the rest of the day (February 2) due to the incident.
