Fernand Leger Work Sells for $705,300 But Delivers a 22% Negative Return

Fernand Leger, Composition à la plante verte, premier état (1939), sold for $705,300 (GBP526,000), more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 4.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $201,800, realizing a 22% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2009 for $907,000 at Christie's.
