Enoch Wood Perry, Kualoa Ranch, Oʻahu (1864) sold for $267,200, more than twice the low estimate at Bonhams in Los Angeles on July 15. The oil on canvas work has not been traded before.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $154,700, a 125% rise.
