Frankfurt's Städel Museum and Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung will co-present Elmgreen & Dragset. Stillleben mit Gemüse (Still-life with vegetables). The sprawling exhibition opening in May by the artist duo Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset will feature new and existing works installed in an "absurd dialogue" with works in the collections of the neighboring institutions.

Svenja Grosser, the Städel's curator of the exhibition and head of contemporary art, said "The exhibition centres around two large-scale installations, The Cloud and Garden of Eden. The museum becomes a stage for their artistic practice, where nothing is as clear-cut as it first appears.”

Elmgreen & Dragset's most famous works include Prada Marfa (2005), a full-scale Prada boutique installed in the middle of the West Texas desert, and Van Gogh’s Ear (2016) – a giant swimming pool sculpture displayed outside New York's Rockefeller Center.

The exhibition is scheduled to open on 20 May and will remain on view until January 17, 2027.
