Elizabeth Peyton, Mendips (1996), sold for $998,400, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 15.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $208,100, realizing a 17% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2023 for $1.21m at Phillips.
