Edvard Munch Work Sells for $69,600 But Delivers a 49% Negative Return

Edvard Munch, Madonna (1895), sold for $69,600 (GBP51,600), more than the low estimate at Phillips in London on September 17.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $67,900, realizing a 49% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2019 for $137,500 at Christie's.
