Dhruva Mistry, Tree Spirit II (1988) sold for $144,100 (GBP108,800), more than eight and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on September 29. The Bronze work has not been traded before.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $39,600, a 37% rise.
