David Kordansky Gallery has confirmed its representation of the Estate of Keith Sonnier, which had worked with Pace Gallery. The new collaboration begins immediately, with Sonnier's work featured on Kordansky's booth at Art Basel this week.
A solo exhibition dedicated to Sonnier's work is scheduled to open at the gallery's Los Angeles space in September. The exhibition will focus on the artist's pioneering contributions to light and neon sculpture.
Sonnier, who died in 2020, is best known for his innovative use of neon and light in sculpture, performance, and multimedia installations. His work is on long-term display at Dia Beacon in New York.
Pace, which recently announced that it was downsizing its roster, presented multiple solo exhibitions of Sonnier's work during his life and since his death.
