Danie Mellor, A Point of Order (New Worlds from Old Power) (2010) sold for $40,500 (AUD67,500), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Menzies in Melbourne on April 9. The pastel, pencil, Swarovski crystals, glitter and wash on paper work has been traded 3 times in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $8,889, a 28% rise.

The previous record was set by A point of order (New worlds from old power) (2010), which sold for $31,600 at Menzies on August 10, 2017.
