Damien Hirst Work Sells for $509,800 But Delivers a 80% Negative Return

Damien Hirst, Bromphenol Red (2007), sold for $509,800 (GBP384,000), less than the low estimate at Christie's in London on October 15.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $2.13m, realizing a 80% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2008 for $2.64m at Sotheby's.
