Claude Lorrain Work Sells for $381,000 to Deliver a 0.1% Annualized Return

Claude Lorrain, Landscape with a Herdsman and Shepherdess (1634), sold for $381,000, more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on February 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $18,400, equivalent to an annualized return of 0.1%. It last sold at auction in 1989 for $362,600 at Sotheby's.
