Claude Lalanne, 'L'Enlèvement d'Europe', designed 1990 (1990) sold for $1.13m, more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in New York on June 12.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $649,000, equivalent to an annualized return of 7%. It last sold at auction in 2013 for $485,000 at Sotheby's.
