Claude Lalanne, An Important and Unique Ensemble of Fifteen Mirrors for Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé (1974) sold for $33.45m, more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on April 22. The gold patinated bronze, galvanized copper, mirrored glass work has been traded twice in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $26.35m, a 350% rise.
